Bangkok (NNT/VNA) - The Thailand Greenhouse GasManagement Organisation (TGO) has been organising its fourth regionalconference on climate change for ASEAN member countries. 

TGO’s Climate Change International Technical and Training Center (CITC) isholding the fourth CITC Regional Conference from July 17-19 under thetheme "Accelerating The Paris Agreement Implementation Through ClimateFinance, Technology And Capacity Building”.

Key topics include how to leverage financialmechanisms, technological developments and capacity building to help ASEANmember countries achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement. One of the goals isto reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 20-25 percent by 2030. 

Permanent Secretary for Natural Resources and the Environment, WijarnSimachaya, said the seminar is a good opportunity for Thailand to exchangeknowledge and promote regional and international cooperation on reducinggreenhouse gas emissions. The results of the conference will be used to helpagencies under Thailand’s Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment toachieve their goals. 

TGO Executive Director, Prasertsuk Chamornmarn, added that Thailand establishedthe CITC at the beginning of last year to support efforts to reduce greenhousegas emissions under the Paris Agreement. The Paris Agreement also coincideswith Thailand’s reform plan for addressing climate change from 2015-2050.-NNT/VNA
