Thailand, Myanmar hold 37th Border Consortium meeting

Thailand and Myanmar held the 37th Border Consortium (TBC) discussion on cooperation along the shared border on November 27.
Mae Hong Son (NNT/ VNA) - Thailandand Myanmar held the 37th Border Consortium (TBC) discussion on cooperationalong the shared border on November 27. 

Thai and Myanmar officials attended the 37th TBCmeeting, hosted by Thailand in Mae Hong Son province, to discuss informationexchange and enhancement in the bilateral cooperation in all aspects. 

The meeting discussed the relations of bothcountries' armed forces in border areas, a bilateral strong village campaign,joint operations to prevent drugs and weapons smuggling, the enhancement intrade, investment, tourism, sports, and cultural cooperation and the plan toupgrade Huai Ton Noon (BP13) temporary border checkpoint as a permanent one. 

The armed forces of both sides have beencooperating well with each other toward a peaceful and orderly situation inborder areas and aiming to enhance the cooperation for mutual benefits in thefuture.-NNT/VNA

Thai Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Vuttikrai Leewiraphan Thailand's formal proposal will be substantial enough for the US to consider further detailed negotiations.
