Thailand now accepts Smart Visa registration

Bangkok (NNT/VNA) – Thailand’s Board of Investment (BOI) hasstarted accepting applications for Smart Visa, aiming to attract experts andhigh level investors from around the world to the country.

The BOI Secretary-General, Duangjai Asawachintachit, said theThai government on February 1 started accepting the application for Smart Visaaimed to attract investments in 10 S-Curve industries, pushing forward Thailandtowards the government's Thailand 4.0 economic model. 

Smart Visas will be offered to foreign nationals who wish towork or invest in Thailand in 10 S-Curve industries. The visas are given infour categories, namely high skilled experts in science and technology,investors, high-level executives, and start-up businesses. 

The Smart Visas will also come with a work permit, and willallow up to four-year residency in Thailand with report-in every one year, andwill allow multiple entries and exits without having to apply for thetraditional re-entry permit. 

Smart Visa applications can be submitted from February 1 atthe Visa and Work Permit Service Center at Chamchuri Square Building, Bangkok.Applicants are subjected to requirements according to the government. Moreinformation can be acquired by calling 0 2209 1100, extensions 1109 and 1110.-VNA
