Bangkok (NNT/VNA) – OTOP Midyear 2018 Signature is set to take place this June 9-17 at Impact Muang Thong Thani, presenting visitors with unique Thai goods for sale and spurring the grassroots economy.

The fair, taking place at Challenger Halls 1-3, will bring together food, clothing, daily items and souvenirs from across the country. A highlight this year will be a demonstration village erected as part of the OTOP Local Innovation project where over 3,000 sellers from villages across the country will be stationed.

Deputy Minister for the Interior Suthee Makboon said today government support for OTOP pushed sales to over 153 billion baht in value in 2017 with expectations the total will exceed 200 billion baht this year. The revenue will enrich the grassroots economy in line with the government’s wish to disperse income.
