Thailand to extend emergency state for one month

Bangkok (VNA) – Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19Situation Administration (CCSA) has agreed to extend the nationwide emergency statefor another one month to November 30 as part of efforts to prevent thespreading of COVID-19.

According to CCSA spokesperson Taweesilp Vinsanuyothin, theone-month extension, when approved by the cabinet next week, will be theseventh since the first order in March.

As scheduled, the CCSA will officially discuss the reductionof quarantine time for people entering the country from abroad.

Taweesilp said that many countries showed their hope toreceive Special Tourist Visa (STV), while the Thai tourism sector are aiming tolure more visitors. Thailand also plans to allow transits at airport as well ascruise ships and tourist ships to bring visitors to the country.

Meanwhile, Thai Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul saidthat the ministry is preparing to shorten quarantine time for tourists to 10days.
