Thailand to hold first exhibition in Myanmar

As many as 80 Thai leading enterprises will showcase their products andservices, ranging from food, cosmetics, household appliances, togarments to home decors at Thailand Week 2015 in Yangon City, Myanmarfrom January 15-18.

The four-day event will be Thailand’sfirst exhibition in Myanmar. It is organised by Thailand’s Department ofInternational Trade Promotion with a view to establishing businessrelations between Thai and Myanmar businesses.

Thailand plansto hold a similar exhibition in Mandalay city, the second largest cityin Myanmar, in late August to boost trade promotion and bilateralinvestment.

Dubbed the “Land of Golden Pagodas”, Thailand is animportant partner of Myanmar, with two-way trade reaching 5.7 billionUSD in 2014.

By September 2014, Thailand invested in 80projects worth 10.2 billion USD or 20.46 percent of the total foreigninvestments in Myanmar.-VNA
