Thailand to push Digital Economy to industry sector

Thailand’s Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MICT) has joined hands with the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) to push forward the Digital Economy policy to the industrial sector.
Thailand’s Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MICT)has joined hands with the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) to pushforward the Digital Economy policy to the industrial sector.

TheMICT Permanent-Secretary Methini Thepmani has revealed that the MICThas discussed with the FTI the promotion of the Digital Economy policyin the industrial sector. Both organizations will push for concreteresults and will encourage SMEs in e-Business and Supply Chainmanagement to increase their competitiveness in the ASEAN EconomicCommunity (AEC).

Approximately 3,000 business owners areexpected to join the e-Business promotion plan, while the technologicalutilization will help entrepreneurs to increase efficiency, reduceoperation costs, and provide new marketing channels.

On thepromotion of Digital Economy, the MICT Permanent-Secretary said that theMICT will provide support to new entrepreneurs, promote commerce andindustrial innovations, adjust the investment format in digitalbusiness, and introduce new markets in the digital contents.

TheMICT’s Digital Economy Promotion comprises of four aspects, includingDigital Commerce, Digital Entrepreneur, Digital Innovation, and DigitalContent.

Meanwhile, the national Digital Economy and Societystrategy comprises of an inclusive digital infrastructure, the use oftechnology to raise the quality of life, the encouragement of digitalentrepreneurs as the main force for national productivity, the increaseof business competitiveness by digital technology, the increase ofconfidence in users and workers in digital economy system, theimprovement of human resources and education through digital technology.This will allow Thailand to become the destination for digitalinvestments, and the improvement of the domestic ICT readiness willraise the nation's international competitiveness.-VN/NNT
