Thailand uncovers fake cosmetics worth nearly 102,000 USD

Thailand’s police have seized more than 14,000 fake and smuggled cosmetic products worth 3.6 million THB (about 101,900 USD) in a raid on a Chinese-owned warehouse in Bangkok's Lat Krabang district, reported local media.

The inspection was conducted on January 28 after the ownerof a cosmetic brand, "Ela Rae", called on the Consumer ProtectionPolice Division (CPPD) to investigate an online cosmetic shop on TikTok named "LUNA-TH" that solditems imitating Ela Rae's. A person who looks after the warehouse said the fakeproducts belonged to a Chinese businessman who imported a lot of cosmetic goodspopular on Chinese social media platforms. Up to 10,000 product unitsare sold daily, according to the warehouse worker. The confiscated items will be examined by the Ministry ofPublic Health's Department of Medical Sciences to see if there are anyillegal substances./.
