Thailand updates search efforts at collapsed building following Myanmar earthquake

Bangkok (VNA)𓄧 – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) plans to conclude search operations on May 10 at the site of the collapsed State Audit Office (SAO) building, which was destroyed during the March earthquake originating in Myanmar.

As of May 8, authorities had confirmed 89 fatalities, nine injuries, and eight individuals still unaccounted for.
Suriyachai Rawiwan, Director of the BMA’s Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department, reported that the total number of victims was revised to 106 after relatives confirmed that three previously reported missing individuals were not present at the construction site during the collapse. Search operations continue, with particular caution exercised around six elevator shafts to preserve potential evidence for the ongoing investigation into the building's collapse./.
