Thailand welcomes 3.7 million foreign tourists in January

Bangkok (VNA) –𝕴 Thailand welcomed 3.7 million foreign tourists in January, a 22.2% increase from the same period of the previous year, showed data released by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports on February 9.

China was the biggest source market with 662,779 arrivals, followed by Malaysia (443,015), Russia (255,920), the Republic of Korea (209,065), India (185, 809), the UK (121,529), and the US (118,038). Others rounded the top ten were China’s Taiwan (116,779), Germany (112,828), and France (110,515).
Earlier, Minister of Tourism and Sports Sorawong Thienthong announced that 2025 has been designated “Amazing Thailand Grand Tourism and Sports Year 2025.” He also revealed that the ministry had raised this year’s tourism target from 39 million to 40 million foreign visitors. The government hopes that foreign tourists will generate 3.5 trillion THB (some 103 billion USD) in revenue this year./.
