– Prime Minister of Thailand PrayutChan-o-cha has welcomed the ruling Palang Pracharath Party (PPRP)’s nominationof him as its prime ministerial candidate in the next election.

According to government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana,Prayut responded positively to the PPRP's decision to name him as a potentialprime ministerial candidate in the next poll.

The spokesman said that Prayut has asked Deputy PrimeMinister Wissanu Krea-ngam, who is a legal expert, to make sure that hisnomination does not go against the constitution and/or other organic laws in areference to the recent confusion surrounding the end of his tenure as PM.

On September 30, Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon, inhis capacity as leader of the PPRP, told party members that the Party woulddefinitely name Prayut as a PM candidate in the next election, which isexpected to take place sometime next year./.
