Top legislator meets KOVIFA chairman and Vietnamese family’s descendant in RoK

Hanoi (VNA) – Chairman of the National AssemblyVuong Dinh Hue on December 14 received Chairman of the Korea-Vietnam FriendshipAssociation (KOVIFA) Choi Young-ju and President of the Association of Vietnamese-Koreans Ly Huan in separate meetings during his ongoing visit to theRepublic of Korea (RoK).
In a meeting with KOVIFA Chairman Choi, the top Vietnamese legislator briefed on his long and very successful talks with his RoK counterpart Park Byeong-Seug a day prior during which both leaders agreed on the need tolift the Vietnam-RoK ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership.
Looking back on the 30-year history of the bilateralrelations, Hue said he is pleased to see what both countries have achievedtogether. The two countries have boasted exchanges and cooperation in all areasand remained each other’s top economic partners.
He partly attributed the achievements to efforts of Choi and KOVIFA members, saying they have acted as a bridge to strengthenmutual understanding between the two countries and their people.
He suggested KOVIFA coordinate with the Vietnam-RoK Friendship Association to organize activities in celebration of the 30th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations in 2022. He also proposedholding a Vietnamese cultural festival in the RoK and vice versa, and unveiledthat Vietnam plans to open a culture centre in the RoK.
Choi, for his part, said the COVID-19 pandemic has not onlycaused various challenges for exchange and business activities between the twosides but also presented new opportunities for their enterprises over the lasttwo years. The KOVIFA will cooperate with other associations to develop plans forthe bilateral ties’ 30th anniversary celebrations.

Talking to Ly Huan, Hue said he was pleased to meetwith descendants of the Ly family originated from Vietnam. Since the Ly predecessorsset their foot to the RoK nearly 1,000 years ago, the family has grownconstantly and made considerable contributions to the host country’sdevelopment, while implementing many activities toward the homeland, he said.
The Vietnamese leader expected the Ly family to continuefostering post-COVID-19 bilateral exchanges and partnership between the twocountries./.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue called on Korean enterprises to invest more in Vietnam during his separate receptions for leaders of several businesses on December 13, as part of his official visit to the Republic of Korea (RoK).
Since Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) established diplomatic ties in 1992, bilateral relations have thrived across all fields, especially in economy and people-to-people exchanges.
Chairman of the National Assembly Vuong Dinh Hue is on an official visit to the Republic of Korea. His visit is made at the invitation of Speaker of the Korean National Assembly Park Byeong-seug.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State place great importance on further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia in a substantive and effective manner, in line with the development needs of both nations.
At the conference, participants reported that the Government has so far issued 28 decrees on the delegation of responsibilities and powers between the central Government and two-tier local administrations. Several localities have already piloted the new governance model.

The show, together with a grand parade to be held silmutaneously at Ba Dinh Square in Hanoi, will celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution, the National Day, and the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army (VPA).
