Trade union cooperation helps to boost Vietnam-Sweden ties
The solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) and the Swedish Trade Union Confederation (LO) over the past 22 years has contributed to deepening and diversifying relations between the two countries, the VGCL leader has said.

Hanoi (VNA) – The solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between the VietnamGeneral Confederation of Labour (VGCL) and the Swedish Trade UnionConfederation (LO) over the past 22 years has contributed to deepening anddiversifying relations between the two countries, the VGCL leader has said.
VGCLPresident Bui Van Cuong, made the statement during his talks with LO VicePresident ThereseGuovelin on May 27, as part of his visit to the European country.
At the meeting, Cuong proposed waysto push ahead with the implementation of cooperation agreements between the twoagencies in the time ahead.
He lauded the cooperation andfriendship between the agencies over the years in such areas as information andexperience sharing, personnel training, job generation, social insurance andwelfare, minimum wage improvement, and workplace safety and hygiene.
The two sides discussed majororientations in collaborations between the agencies in the context that Vietnamis realising new-generation free trade agreements that cover labour and tradeunion issues.
They also compared notes on internationallabour and trade union matters of mutual concern.–VNA
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has praised Sweden’s achievements in scientific research and modern technology and promised to create the best conditions possible for Swedish enterprises to invest and expand their operations in Vietnam.
