Vietnam is Türkiye’s top priority economic partner in the Asia-Pacific, affirmed Turkish Minister of Trade Omer Bolat at his meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Ankara on November 29.

Ankara (VNA) – Vietnam is Türkiye’s toppriority economic partner in the Asia-Pacific, affirmed Turkish Ministerof Trade Omer Bolat at his meeting with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Ankaraon November 29.
Chinh, who is on an official visit to the country, proposedthe Turkish ministry and the minister himself continue to coordinate with relevant departments and sectors of both countries to promote a number of specificmeasures, which include studying the early initiation of negotiations for theVietnam- Türkiye free trade agreement at an appropriate time.
Suggesting the organisation of the 8th meeting of the countries’inter-governmental committee in Ankara in 2024, he emphasised a need to step uptrade promotion and investment activities between Vietnamese and Turkish enterprisesand localities. It is also necessary to open up markets, create conditions foreach country's strong export products to penetrate each other's markets, andlift anti-dumping measures for their goods and services.

For his part, Bolat said the PM’s visit to Türkiye this timeis a significant milestone in the celebration of the nations’ 45-yeardiplomatic relations and will boost effective economic cooperation between the sides.
The minister noted following the initial success of their investmentprojects, more and more Turkish corporations and businesses are interested inthe Vietnamese market. This is especially true in Türkiye’s strong areas likeconstruction, industrial manufacturing, and consumer goods.
Bolat also informed his guest of a plan to send a Turkishbusiness delegation to Vietnam next year./.
2023 marks 45 years since Vietnam and Türkiye established diplomatic relations. Sharing similarities in history and with long and rich cultural traditions, the two countries have been promoting the growing relationship in numerous fields.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his spouse and the Vietnamese delegation arrived at Esenboga International Airport in Ankara on November 28 evening (local time), beginning an official visit to Türkiye from November 29-30.
The visit of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh to Türkiye will generate a fresh momentum, providing both countries with an opportunity to assess and further advance bilateral relations across various sectors, Turkish Ambassador Haldun Tekneci told the Vietnam News Agency.
Both Vietnam and Türkiye pin high hope on Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s official visit that it will create a new impetus for bilateral relations to grow more strongly and comprehensively, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Türkiye Do Son Hai.
At the conference, participants reported that the Government has so far issued 28 decrees on the delegation of responsibilities and powers between the central Government and two-tier local administrations. Several localities have already piloted the new governance model.

Under the official dispatch signed on June 20, ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, and chairpersons of provincial and municipal People’s Committees are requested to concentrate efforts on implementing core measures to ensure the smooth operations of the new administrative framework.
