Two NA deputies of Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang provinces relieved of duties
The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee decided to relieve Dang Quoc Khanh of the delegation of NA deputies of Ha Giang province and Chau Van Lam of the NA deputy delegation of Tuyen Quang province of their duties as deputies to the 15th NA at a meeting on August 13.
Hanoi (VNA) - The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee decided to relieve Dang Quoc Khanh of the delegation of NA deputies of Ha Giang province and Chau Van Lam of the NA deputy delegation of Tuyen Quang province of their duties as deputies to the 15th NA at a meeting on August 13.
Pursuant to the Constitution, the Law on NA Organisation and relevant legal regulations; according to the opinions of competent agencies; pursuant to the proposals of the NA Committee for Deputy Affairs; and considering Khanh's and Lam's applications for resignation from the duties of NA deputies, the NA Standing Committee discussed and casted secret votes and issued a resolution on relieving Khanh and Lam of their duties as deputies to the 15th NA.
At a meeting on August 3, the 13th Party Central Committee found that Dang Quoc Khanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Civil Affairs Committee and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, former Secretary of the Party Committee and head of the delegation of deputies to the 15th NA of Ha Giang province; and Chau Van Lam, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee and head of the delegation of deputies to the 15th NA of Tuyen Quang province violated the Party's regulations on performing assigned duties and tasks, regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do, regulations on the responsibility to set a good example and regulations on preventing and combating corruption and negative phenomena. Clearly aware of their responsibilities before the Party and people, Khanh and Lam summitted applications to cease holding their assigned positions.
Based on the current regulations of the Party and State and considering their wishes, the Party Central Committee agreed to let Khanh and Lam to cease holding the positions of members of the 13th Party Central Committee.
Khanh, born in 1976, became Secretary of the Party Committee of Ha Giang province in July 2019, and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment in May 2023.

Resolutely handling wrongdoing officials, including those holding high positions, demonstrates the political determination of the Party and the State to make the apparatus pure and tighten Party disciplines and State laws.
