Two Singapore universities listed Asia’s top ten

The National University of Singapore (NUS) emerged as top and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) jumped to seventh in Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)’s Asia university rankings in 2014.
The National University of Singapore (NUS) emerged as top and NanyangTechnological University (NTU) jumped to seventh in Quacquarelli Symonds(QS)’s Asia university rankings in 2014.

The QS rankings for 2014 was released on May 12. The field comprised 300universities in Asia, which were each assessed on eight indicators.

NUS was ranked first in the employer reputationindicator and second for academic reputation. It was Asia 's best insocial sciences & management, second-best in arts & thehumanities, engineering & technology and in the life sciences &medicine, and was ranked third for natural sciences.

Meanwhile, NTU was ranked fifth in reputation among employers, and11th in terms of academic reputation. It also did well in having adiverse international faculty, cosmopolitan student population and forits overseas exchanges.

Among the top five inAsia are universities from the Republic of Korea and Hong Kong.Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology was placed second,while University of Hong Kong and Seoul National University were thirdand fourth, respectively.-VNA

Thai Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Commerce Vuttikrai Leewiraphan Thailand's formal proposal will be substantial enough for the US to consider further detailed negotiations. He hoped for a tariff rate not exceeding 10% and suggested that the US might extend the negotiation period if an agreement is not reached by the July 8 deadline.
