UN Women conducts online survey on revised Labour Code
The UN Women and the Australian Embassy in Vietnam are calling on labourers to participate in an online survey to assess the effects of the revision of the Labour Code on labourers.
Hanoi (VNA) – The UN Women andthe Australian Embassy in Vietnam are calling on labourers to participate in anonline survey to assess the effects of the revision of the Labour Code on men,women and different labour groups in society.
The survey aims to collect labourers’ feedbackabout plans on supplements and amendments to policies as well as their impactsin order to ensure rights and interests of all Vietnamese labourers are fullydemonstrated in the revised Labour Code.
Therefore, labourers with the age of over15 across Vietnam are encouraged to do the survey at link //goo.gl/forms/i1C4NmpjlxXdn5gs1 from December 8-22.
All ideas collected during the survey willbe used for research purposes only. The result will serve as a foundation forthe UN Women (United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment ofWomen) and the Australian Embassy in Vietnam to give advice to the Vietnamese Government.-VNA
The Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) held a conference in Hanoi on September 21 to review the three-year enforcement of the Labour Code 2012.
A survey by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour (VGCL) conducted in March and April on 2,500 workers revealed that labourers work overtime for the extra money, not because they want to.
A conference on famle labourers and the role of trade union in the Asia-Pacific region was held in Hanoi on December 6 by the VGCL in collaboration with the WFTU.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.

The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.
