University enrolment regulations for 2020 declared
University enrolment regulations for the 2020 intake will be adjusted to improve limitations in the university entrance exam last year, the Ministry of Education and Training (MoET) declared in a conference on May 8 in Hanoi.

Hanoi (VNS/VNA) - University enrolment regulations for the 2020 intake will beadjusted to improve limitations in the university entrance exam last year, theMinistry of Education and Training (MoET) declared in a conference on May 8 inHanoi.
Theregulations will be applied for all university and college admission and thisyear, institutions will not enrol for the intermediate training level likebefore and will concentrate on the college and university training level only.
Theregulations this year also added that students studying a foreign curriculum athigh schools in Vietnam will be allowed to take the university and collegeentrance exam if the curriculum is recognised by their local country and at thesame level as the curriculum in Vietnam.
Foreigncandidates who wish to study at Vietnamese universities and colleges can applyand principals of the schools will consider their high school and Vietnameselanguage studying results.
All schoolsmust publicise their plans for enrollment on their website 15 days beforestudents start to register.
Also underthe new regulations, if universities want a specific exam, they need a specifictask force for the exam. The task force, including people making examquestions, marking exam papers and technicians, must have good qualificationsand management ability.
As usual,the MoET will set the threshold to ensure quality of candidates using theirhigh school graduation exam scores to join the university enrolment for theeducation and health care sector.
Ifcandidates register for education, medicine, traditional medicine and pharmacy,their school report marks must be at least 8.0. If they register for nursing,preventive medicine, midwifery, or technicians, their school report marks mustbe at least 6.5.
Other majorswill regulate their threshold and are responsible for reporting the thresholdto management offices and candidates./.
The Ministry of Education and Training reported that more than 94 percent of students sitting the national high school examination in late June of this academic year are eligible for graduation.
