Buenos Aires (VNA) - The El Popular newspaper, the mouthpiece of the Communist Party of Uruguay, on May 7 reported on Vietnam’s commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory.
Describing the event as a significant political activity, the article said it aimed at promoting the patriotic tradition and revolutionary heroism among the young generation. Vietnamese people commemorate the historic battle to honour and express deep gratitude to those who died serving the cause of national liberation and reunification.
The El Popular also reported that a series of cultural and artistic events have been organised across Vietnam to commemorate the victory, which was a decisive milestone in the struggle to liberate the people of Indochina from the colonial yoke of the French at that time.
