Hanoi (VNA) – US President Donald Trump praised Malaysia’sefforts in fighting terrorism while receiving Malaysian Prime Minister NajibRazak at the White House on September 12.

President Trump underlined Razak’s role in not allowing ISIS to exist in thecountry, adding that the Malaysian Prime Minister has always been strong incombating terrorism.

For his part, Prime Minister Razak said that Malaysia remained committed tofighting ISIS, Al Qaeda and other extremist groups like Abu Sayyaf.

He affirmed that the US is a significant partner of the Southeast Asiancountry.

Large trade pacts between the two countries were discussed, including a Boeingdeal worth 20 billion USD, with Malaysia agreeing to purchase 25 Boeing 737jets, eight Dreamliners and 25 more Boeing 737s in the future.

PM Razak and the Malaysian delegation visited the US from September 11-13 onthe occasion of the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations betweenthe two countries.-VNA
