VFF President congratulates Hoa Hao Buddhism’s 79th anniversary

Hanoi (VNA) – President of theCentral Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Tran Thanh Man has senta letter of congratulations to the Central Executive Committee, dignitaries andfollowers of Hoa Hao Buddhism to recognise of the sect’s 79th founding anniversary (the 18th of the fifth lunar month).
In the letter, Man lauded Hoa Hao Buddhistfollowers for staying united with other religions and people nationwide to carryout movements launched by the VFF such as building new-style rural areas, civilisedurban areas, rural roads and offering free meals to hospital patients, activitieswhich have been welcomed by society, contributing to strengthening nationalunity.
He expressed his belief and hope that HoaHao Buddhist followers will continue abiding by Party policies and State lawsand joining social welfare and vocational training activities, health check-upsand treatment and other social activities.
Man wished that they would continue joiningcampaigns and patriotic emulation movements launched by the VFF CentralCommittee, especially the campaigns “All people stand united to build new-stylerural and civilised urban areas” and “Vietnamese people prioritise Vietnamesegoods”.
He wished that all Hoa Hao Buddhistfollowers would celebrate the grand anniversary in joyful spirit and closelyconnected with national unity.
There are 397 local executive committees ofHoa Hao Buddhism in 17 cities and provinces at present, according to the HoaHao Buddhist Sangha.-VNA
Authorities of the southern province of An Giang and over 25,000 followers of Hoa Hao Buddhism celebrated the 96th birth anniversary of the sect’s founder, Prophet Huynh Phu So on January 4.
The Central Executive Committee of the Hoa Hao Buddhist Sangha marked the 78th founding anniversary of the Buddhist branch with a grand ceremony at An Hoa Pagoda in the Mekong Delta province of An Giang on June 12.
