Berlin (VNA) – The Jet Airliner Crash Data Evaluation Centre (JACDEC) in Germany on January 12 listed Vietnam’s national flag carrier -- Vietnam Airlines --among the top 60 safest airlines in the world.

The JACDEC’s evaluation is based on the calculations which include the airlines’ transport service and the number of accidents and incidents in the last 30 years of operation.

The centre also calculates the accidental cases which probably take place in a twinkling or other risky situations.

Vietnam Airlines was listed in the JACDEC’s annual Airline Safety Ranking thanks to its safety, stability, and efficiency in flight operations.

Besides, the airline was appreciated for shifting to new aircraft generations such as 787-9 Dreamliner and Airbus A350-900XWB.

This year, the top five safety airlines came from the Asian and Arabian regions, namely Cathay Pacific from Hong Kong (China), Emirates from Dubai, Eva Air from Taiwan (China), Qatar Airways from Qatar, and the Chinese Hainan Airlines.

Vietnam Airlines has a fleet of 87 aircraft, covering 21 domestic and 29 international routes.

By the end of September 2015, Vietnam Airl𝕴ines earned 52.5 trillion VND (2.34 billion USD) in revenue, 1.08 trillion VND (48.1million USD) above its target. Of that turnover, pretax profit was more than 1.3 trillion VND (57.9 million USD), rising 674 billion VND (30 million USD) compared with the previous 12 months - when the firm had yet to be equitised.-VNA
