Vietnam always a priority in China’s neighborhood diplomacy: Chinese official
The Vietnamese Party and State highly value the consolidation and strengthening of traditional friendship and cooperation with Chinese counterparts, considering it a top priority and a strategic choice in Vietnam’s foreign policy, said newly-appointed Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh.

Beijing (VNA) – Fu Ziying, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of China, affirmed Vietnam’s priority status in China’s neighborhood diplomacy at a meeting on March 18 with newly-appointed Vietnamese Ambassador to China Pham Thanh Binh.
Praising Vietnam’s recent socio-economic achievements and expressing confidence in its ongoing progress, he said his committee stands ready to collaborate with the Vietnamese Embassy in China and relevant Vietnamese agencies to deepen legislative ties, delivering tangible benefits to both nations’ citizens.
For his part, Binh congratulated China on its successful conclusion of the third sessions of the 14th NPC and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. He expressed optimism about China’s trajectory, citing its vast potential, rich resources, and sound direction as a foundation for achieving development goals, ensuring stability, and unlocking growth opportunities for regional countries, including Vietnam.

Praising the growing cooperation between the Vietnamese legislature and China’s NPC with frequent high-level exchanges, he wished for continued engagements to further boost political trust and solidify social foundation, especially through the cooperation agreement between the Vietnamese National Assembly and the NPC.
⭕ Both officials noted the progress in relations between the two Parties and countries in recent years. They agreed that under the strategic leadership and direction of the countries' top leaders and joint efforts of their ministries and localities, the Vietnam-China relationship is now at its best, with significant outcomes across multiple fields./.
The two sides agreed to further strengthen their cooperation, meeting the growing requirements of public auditing while aligning with their countries’ comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.
Import and export activities between Vietnam and China were moderate in the first two months of the year, with a value exceeding 31 billion USD. Since the beginning of the year, China has tightened imports of certain items from Vietnam, including durian fruit.
The railway line from Fangchenggang to Dongxing in China, which was launched in 2023, is expected to connect with the Mong Cai-Ha Long-Hai Phong railway line. Meanwhile, the Nanning-Chongzuo-Pingxiang route is expected to be completed and put into operation by the end of this year, and it will connect with the Dong Dang-Hanoi line.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State place great importance on further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia in a substantive and effective manner, in line with the development needs of both nations.
At the conference, participants reported that the Government has so far issued 28 decrees on the delegation of responsibilities and powers between the central Government and two-tier local administrations. Several localities have already piloted the new governance model.

Under the official dispatch signed on June 20, ministers, heads of ministerial-level agencies, and chairpersons of provincial and municipal People’s Committees are requested to concentrate efforts on implementing core measures to ensure the smooth operations of the new administrative framework.
