Vietnam attaches importance to the strategic partnership with Germany and hopes the two sides will further tighten bilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of economy, trade and investment, a high-ranking Party official stated on March 25.

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam attaches importance to thestrategic partnership with Germany and hopes the two sides will further tightenbilateral cooperation, especially in the fields of economy, trade andinvestment, a high-ranking Party official stated on March 25.
During his reception in Hanoi for visiting Federal Ministerfor Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany Peter Altmaier, head of the PartyCentral Committee’s Economic Commission Nguyen Van Binh also expressed his wishthat Germany and other member countries of the European Union (EU) will supportthe EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement. This will mark a very significant progressin the realisation of the EU’s Europe – Asia connection strategy andacceleration of the Vietnam – Germany in particular, Binh stressed.
The official described the inauguration and commissioning ofthe German House in Ho Chi Minh City as a bridge linking German enterpriseswith their Vietnamese partners, as well as with those in the Association ofSoutheast Asian Nations (ASEAN), thus contributing to the strengthening of thetrade and investment cooperation.
For his part, Minister Peter spoke highly of Vietnam’srecent socio-economic achievements. He also affirmed that his country standsready to cooperate with Vietnam in the fields of its strength and suitable to thelatter’s development priority such as supporting industry, tourisminfrastructure, vocational training and environment, as well as to continuepushing up bilateral major cooperation projects.-VNA
