Vietnam has brought its traditional handicraft products to a recent fairin Puerto Iguazu city, Misiones district, Argentina with the aim ofproviding an insight into the land and people of Vietnam.
ThroughVietnamese products such as lacquer, silk, brocade and horn and woodenitems showcased at the event, visitors would more understand aboutVietnam, contributing to promoting cooperation between Quang Ninhprovince of Vietnam and Misones, which boast new natural world wonders,namely Ha Long Bay and Iguazu Fall, Vietnamese Ambassador to ArgentinaNguyen Dinh Thao said.
Mayor of Puerto Iguazu Marcelo Sanchez andPresident of Misiones’s Craft Fund Silvana Gimenez stressed the need toset up cooperation between craft production establishments betweenMisiones and Vietnam, whilst expressing their hope to send localenterprises to craft fairs in Vietnam.
On this occasion,Ambassador Thao had a working session with Misiones Minister of TourismSergio Dobrusin during which they discuss measures to boost ties betweenQuang Ninh and Misiones provinces in various fields, starting withtourism.
During his visit to Argentina in July, Secretary of theQuang Ninh provincial Party Committee Pham Minh Chinh received a letterof intent from the Misiones authorities on promoting tourism cooperationbetween the two sides, based on the potential of renowned naturalheritages.
The Craft Fair MERCOSUR 2014, the fourth of its kindheld by Misiones’s Craft Fund from October 8-13, is among the mostimportant fairs in Argentina. This year, the fair drew the participationof more than 100 booths from Brazil, Paraguay and a number ofArgentinean localities.-VNA
