Vietnam bolsters ties with central Lao provinces

Vientiane (VNA) ಞ– Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam visited Khammouane and Bolikhamxay provinces from February 18-20 to seek ways to enhance cooperation and promote investment of Vietnamese businesses in the central region of Laos.

Emphasising the importance and crucial significance of the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, Tam said that the development of this special relationship has received significant contributions from Khammouane and Bolikhamxay provinces.
The mutual support and assistance between localities of both countries form a solid foundation that contributes to maintaining stability and development in each nation, he added. Leaders of Khammouane and Bolikhamxay said that the investment projects of Vietnamese businesses in the two provinces have proved effective, providing stable jobs and income for thousands of Lao workers. Vietnamese enterprises have also done well in social welfare affairs, contributed to the local budget, and promoted socio-economic development, thereby helping strengthen the special Vietnam-Laos relationship and taking it to new heights.

They expressed their hope that, in his capacity as the Ambassador of Vietnam to Laos, Tam will act as a bridge to help these two provinces coordinate with Vietnamese localities to effectively implement agreements reached by the two countries’ high-ranking leaders, as well as cooperation agreements between the Lao provinces and Vietnamese localities. The Lao officials also thanked Vietnam for its support and assistance, affirming that the Party organisation, authorities, and people of both provinces will do their utmost to protect, nurture, and develop the special solidarity and long-standing relationship between Vietnam and Laos in general, as well as that between the two Lao provinces and Vietnamese localities./.
