Vietnam boosts external information service in Latin America

The delegation was led by Pham Van Linh, deputy head of the PartyCentral Committee’s Commission for Popularisation and Education anddeputy permanent head of the Steering Committee on External InformationService.

In Nicaragua, the Vietnamese delegationattended the 34 th Sandinista Revolutionary Day in Nicaragua. It wasreceived by Nicaraguan President Daniel Ortega, who praised theachievements gained by the Vietnamese people in their struggles forliberation in the past and during the national construction anddevelopment at present, under the leadership of the Communist Party ofVietnam.

These results have contributed toimproving the position and prestige of Vietnam in the internationalarena, Ortega said.

During its stays in Braziland Argentina, the Vietnamese delegation met with officials in charge ofcommunications and representatives from several news agencies andtelevisions.

At the meetings, Linh highlightedthe importance of external information service in the context ofVietnam’s deeper international integration.

Latin America is also one of important regions in Vietnam’s externalinformation service as it offers Vietnam the special sentiment in thecountry’s past struggle for liberation and the current nationalconstruction and development, Linh said.

TheBrazilian and Argentine hosts stressed Latin American people’s interestin information on Vietnam’s industrialisation and modernisation.

In an interview granted to the Vietnam News Agency, Linh affirmedthat the delegation learnt more about these countries’ demand forinformation on Vietnam, and also exchanged specific measures to furtherraise the quality and efficiency of external information service inorder to promote Vietnam’s image in the Latin American region.-VNA
