Vietnam and Cambodia have held a ceremony to put out to tender aproject on national border map making between the two countries.
Theevent drew international bidders such as Blom Info AS of Denmark , IGNof France, Kokusai of Japan, and the joint PASCO-FINNMAP of Japan andFinland .
Representatives from Vietnamese and Cambodianministries and relevant agencies and the inter-committee for borderdemarcation were also present at the ceremony held in Phnom Penh onDec. 1.
The document for the bidding was signed by Deputy Head ofthe Vietnam Foreign Ministry’s National Border Committee Nguyen HongThao and Senior Minister of the Royal Cambodian Government Var Kim Hong.
Toensure objectivity, science and accuracy, the two sides decided tochoose international bidding to make the border map, showing locationsof demarcating border landmarks, to be attached to the future Protocolon border demarcation.
Vietnam and Cambodia are scheduled to fulfill all border demarcation-related work by 2012./.
