Vientiane (VNA) – A VietnamCulture Week 2019 was kicked off at the Lao National Cultural Hall in Vientiane, Laos on December 5, with an art show featuring folk dances and music performed by artists of the Vietnam National Music,Song and Dance Theatre.
The event isco-held by Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Laos’ Ministryof Information, Culture and Tourism.
Addressing theopening ceremony, Vietnamese Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism NguyenNgoc Thien said the Vietnam Culture Week 2019 is an important cultural exchangeevent aiming to further strengthen the Vietnam – Laos relations and translatethe two countries’ cultural and tourism cooperation into reality.
He expectedthat the event will mark another milestone in the bilateral ties.
Lao Ministerof Information, Culture and Tourism Kikeo Khaykhamphithouse, for his part,welcomed the organisation of the event in Laos, saying it demonstrates thespecial friendship and solidarity between the two Parties, States and peoples.
After theevent’s opening, the troupe from the Vietnam National Music, Song andDance Theatre will take a tourin Laos to serve local audience and Vietnamese people here./.
The “Vietnam Culture Week 2018” in Cambodia kicked off in Chaktomuk of Phnom Penh on September 11, contributing to promoting the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and its neighbour.
The “Vietnam Culture Week” was held in Ottawa, Canada on September 11 as part of activities to mark the 73rd anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day (September 2) and the 45th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Canada.

This is the first time since the adoption of the Convention that a country has served two consecutive terms on the Committee. For the first time, the World DanceSport Federation (WDSF) has granted Vietnam hosting rights for the two championships, including the Asian women’s solo category, which debuts this year as an officially recognised event.
