Vietnam Family Festival 2020 to take place on June 26 – 28

Hanoi (VNA) – A host of activities are scheduled during the 2020 Vietnam Family Festival to be held at the Vietnam Exhibition Centrefor Culture and Arts in Hanoi from June 26 – 28.
The festival is an annual event to mark the Vietnam FamilyDay on June 28 and promote the traditional values of Vietnamese families andraise public awareness of the importance of observing the Party’s polices andthe State’s laws on family in the modern society.
This year, the festival will focus on promoting goodbehaviours among family members. It will feature a wide range of activities,including exhibitions, seminars, conferences, health consultation and culturalexchanges.
There will be a four-section exhibition on family in the cultural tradition of Vietnamese ethnic communities, a photo exhibitionpromoting the role of women and mothers in families, and a book exhibitionaiming to foster reading culture and develop connection among family members./.
An array of cultural activities will be held in the framework of the Vietnam Family Festival on June 22 to mark the National Family Day (June 28), according to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The programmes have brought about positive changes to rural infrastructure, comprehensively improved the material and spiritual lives of farmers, and contributed to Vietnam's economic restructuring, said PM Pham Minh Chinh.
The festival highlighted the contributions and robust development of Vietnam's revolutionary press over the past century while promoting press products and showcasing the creativity of Vietnamese journalists.
The programme on sustainable poverty reduction has achieved its annual targets for reducing the poverty rate as assigned by the National Assembly and the Government. It has fulfilled five specific objectives and five five-year goals, and met nine out of 12 indicators related to addressing basic social service shortages.

At a review conference held on June 21, Deputy Minister of Construction Nguyen Van Sinh praised the province’s scientific, coordinated, and flexible approach.
