Vietnam Fatherland Front, Cuban Revolution Defence Committees enhance ties

Hanoi (VNA) – President ofthe Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Do Van Chien received ahigh-ranking delegation of the Committees for the Defence of the Revolution ofCuba (CDR) led by National Coordinator Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo in Hanoi onMay 16.
Welcoming the CDR delegation, Chien,who is also a member of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee, highlightedthe over-60-year special relations between Vietnam and Cuba and affirmed thatthe fraternal solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and mutual trust betweenthe two Parties, States, and peoples have been reinforced unceasingly anddeveloping strongly in all spheres.
He expressed his belief that basingon their sound relations, the VFF and CDR will continue helping to nurture thespecial ties and friendship between the Parties, States, and peoples of the twocountries.
Gerardo Hernandez Nordelo, who isalso a member of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee, voiced hisdelight that over the past years, the long-standing friendship and special solidaritybetween the two countries, including between the VFF and CDR, have continuallybeen consolidated and growing comprehensively, becoming a great source of supportfor the revolution in each nation.
The CDR will keep joining the VFFCentral Committee in future cooperation activities in order to help achieve thecommon goal of progressive, developed, and prosperous societies in theirrespective countries, he added.
At the meeting, the two sides spoke highlyof their coordination results as well as the implementation of the bilateralcooperation agreement for 2012 - 2022.
They agreed on the cooperation planfor 2023 - 2028 on the basis of their functions, tasks and power, relevantlegal regulations of each country, and the international treaties to which eachis a party.
Accordingly, from now to 2028, theVFF and CDR will step up communications about the Vietnam - Cuba traditionalfriendship and all-round cooperation among people of all social strata,especially the young; increase information exchange, coordination, and mutualassistance to help maintain peace, stability, and social order and safety ineach country; and support the interests of each country on the basis of thestances and viewpoints of international law and each side./.
There is lots of room available for Vietnam and Cuba to step up commerce and investment cooperation, especially in farming and food processing, heard a forum promoting trade between the two countries held in Ho Chi Minh City on May 12.
