Vietnam fosters cooperation with China’s Chongqing city
Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang on September 24 expressed her hope that China’s Chongqing city will promote cooperation and enhance the exchanges of working delegations with Vietnam's localities, including Ho Chi Minh City.

HCM City (VNA) – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang on September 24 expressed her hope that China’s Chongqing city will promote cooperation and enhance the exchanges of working delegations with Vietnam's localities, including Ho Chi Minh City.
Hosting a reception for Vice Mayor of Chongqing Zheng Xiangdong, who is attending the second Ho Chi Minh City Friendship Dialogue 2024, Hang affirmed that Vietnam attaches much importance to deepening and developing the Vietnam - China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership to a new height as well as building the Vietnam – China community with a shared future in accordance with the direction of leaders of the two Parties and States.
She highlighted the robust cooperation between localities of both nations which has contributed to the development of the bilateral relations, adding as Vietnam will open its Consulate General in Chongqing in the near future, the country wishes to receive support from the host city for effective operation of the diplomatic agency.
Hang also took this occasion to ask Chongqing to continue opening its door for Vietnamese agricultural products and creating favourable conditions for Vietnamese firms to transport goods to Europe through the city. She also requested the Chongqing authorities to continue cooperation with the Vietnamese side in the areas of tourism and people-to-people exchanges.
Zheng, for his part, affirmed that Chongqing stands ready to enhance cooperation activities with Vietnamese localities and to facilitate access for Vietnamese goods to the city, adding Vietnamese coffee and banana have been well consumed in the city's market.
