Vietnam fosters cooperation with Russian political parties

Moscow (VNA) - Nguyen Thi Hoang Van,deputy head of the Party Central Committee's Commission for External Relations,on December 1 and 2 held meetings with leaders of the United Russia Party (URP), the CommunistParty of the Russian Federation (KPRF) and the A Just Russia – For the Truth party.

During the meetings, which took place in the framework of the officialvisit to Russia by President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Van said the Communist Party ofVietnam (CPV) always attaches importance to cooperation with Russia’s political parties, and collaboration via the Party channel, thus contributing to strengtheningthe Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership in an effective andpragmatic manner.

She handed over a message of congratulation from PartyGeneral Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong to URP leaders on the occasion of the party's 20th anniversary.

Deputy Secretary of the URP's General Council AndreyKlimov affirmed that Vietnam is a leading important partner in Russia’sforeign policy in Southeast Asia and Asia-Pacific.

The URP will actively coordinate with Vietnam in theimplementation of specific cooperation activities to realise the minutes onexpanding and deepening cooperation between the CPV and the URP for 2022-2024.

Leaders of the KPRF and the A Just Russia – For theTruth also emphasised their support of stronger relations with Vietnam,and agreed to step up information sharing as well as the exchange of all-leveldelegations, and closely coordinate with the Vietnamese side at multilateralforums.

The parties appreciated President Phuc’s visit, describing it as a milestone that marks a new development period in the bilateral ties between Russia and Vietnam. Theypledged to work with Vietnam to promote cooperationthrough the Party channel, thereby creating a firm political foundation for andcontributing to consolidating and deepening the Vietnam-Russia comprehensivestrategic partnership./.
