Vietnam wishes to further cooperationwith Sudan, especially in economics and trade, in line with the twocountries’ potential, said Vice State President Nguyen Thi Doan.
While receiving Sudanese State Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Karti,who is on a four-day visit to Vietnam from October 5, Vice StatePresident Doan said she was pleased with developing bilateral relationsover the past time and thanked the Sudanese people for their supportfor Vietnam’s struggles for independence in the past as well as itscurrent national development.
For his part, State Minister Karti highly valued Vietnam’ssocio-economic development achievements during 20 years of renewal andthe country’s increasing role and prestige in the region and the worldas well.
He expressed his wish to further strengthen cooperation with Vietnam in all aspects.
During his stay in Vietnam, the Sudanese guest held talks with DeputyForeign Minister Doan Xuan Hung and attended the Vietnam-Sudan BusinessSeminar.
The two sides discussed orientations and measures to boostmulti-faceted bilateral cooperation, especially in agriculture, trade,and oil and gas.
They also exchanged views on regional and international issues of common concern.
The two sides agreed that they should make more efforts to speed up andimprove their economic-trade relations as they still see a largepotential for cooperation./.
