The implementation of the National Cooperation Programme on SustainableEmployment between Vietnam and the International Labour Organisation(ILO) was reviewed at a meeting in Hanoi on February 18.
The meeting, which aimed to give priorities of Vietnamese partnersin performing the programme in the 2014-16 period was organised by theMinistry of Labour, War Invalids and Social Affairs (MoLISA) inconjunction with the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, theVietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Vietnam Cooperative’sAlliance and the ILO.
In recenttime, the concerned parties focused on implementing the nationalpriorities of the programme, including improving quality andsustainability of growth through high-quality labour; promoting equaland comprehensive growth by encouraging social welfare activities, andmeeting the demands for sustainable job from vulnerable groups;contributing to Vietnam’s modernisation-orientated industrialisation bybettering the management of the employment market.
In the framework of the programme, many important projects werecarried out by the MoLISA, the ILO and other partners in Vietnam,contributing to realising the programme’s goals.
They also worked closely to amend the Labour Code and the Law onTrade Union, while building legal documents and implementing severalprojects related to labour relations, minimum wage, employee safety andsanitation, social insurance and employment.
Earlier, a memorandum of understanding on the National CooperationProgramme on Sustainable Employment in the period of 2014-2019 betweenthe Vietnamese Government and representative organisations of workersand the ILO was signed.-VNA
