Hanoi (VNA) – The Industry 4.0Summit 2019 is scheduled for October 2 and 3 in Hanoi, announced the Party CentralCommittee’s Economic Commission on September 25.

The summit will be chaired by leaders of theParty, National Assembly and Government with the participation of about 1,500domestic and international delegates.

On the sidelines, five symposiums, anexhibition on modern technologies, and a business matching event will takeplace.

The summit aims to explain key polices ofthe Party and State on Vietnam’s participation in the 4th IndustrialRevolution, pool domestic and foreign experts’ recommendations for suchengagement, and connect international investors in the field with theVietnamese business community.

Some 85 percent of industrial enterprises inVietnam still lag behind the Fourth Industrial Revolution (Industry 4.0), andonly 13 percent are at the beginner level, according to Nguyen Duc Thanh,director of the Vietnam Institute for Economic and Policy Research (VEPR).

In a draft national digital transformationplan, Vietnam targets emerging as one of the top four countries in ASEAN interms of digitalisation by 2025 with 80,000 digital technology companies./.
