Vietnam-Laos youth exchange hailed a success

The annual Vietnam-Laos friendship exchange has concluded in central Nghe An province following a week of youth networking between the two neighbours.

The closing ceremony was attended byDeputy Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Youth Union CentralCommittee Khampha Phimmasone, and Permanent Secretary of the Ho Chi MinhCommunist Youth Union Central Committee Phan Van Mai, among others.

Participants at the event stressed the need for the young generationsof both countries to uphold the precious tradition of friendship andpartnership between Vietnam and Laos.

They alsoagreed to maintain regular communication and continue seeking new waysto strengthen the ties between the two parties, governments and peoples.

During their stay in Nghe An province, youths fromLaos experienced the daily life of local residents in the province’s CuaLo town and visited fishing villages to learn about the Vietnameseculture.

Nghe An is currently trainingundergraduate and postgraduates students for five Lao provinces, and ithas pledged to devote time and money to the development of thesocio-economic and cultural development in both countries.

Every year, Vietnam and Laos take turns hosting youth exchanges aimedat enhancing mutual understanding between the two youth unions. Thisyear’s event has been hailed by participants as a particularlysignificant occasion, immeasurably boosting the development andunderstanding between Vietnam and Laos-VNA
