HCM City (VNA) – Vietnam is a leadinginformation technology (IT) services destination in Asia, heard a pressconference in Ho Chi Minh City on August 8 on the upcoming IT service exportconference 2017.

President of the Vietnam Information TechnologyOutsourcing Alliance (VNITO) Lam Nguyen Hai Long said the IT outsourcingindustry is growing in Vietnam, especially in HCM City.

The city earns nearly one billion USD per yearfrom exporting IT services, he noted.

According to the global real estate adviserCushman & Wakefield, Vietnam was ranked first in the world’s businessprocess outsourcing (BPO) in 2016.

The US Gartner’s research and advisory companyranked Vietnam first among the six leading destination in global technologicaltransfer in Asia-Pacific in 2016.

The latest research from the KPMG service firmshowed that Quang Trung Software City in HCM City was ranked third in eighttechnological parks in terms of land occupancy rate, incentives, and telecominfrastructure and ranked fourth in scale, efficiency and operation ofbusinesses, FDI attraction, and human resources skills.

CEO and President of LogiGear Corp Hung Nguyensuggested increasing capacity for youngsters and investing in research anddevelopment activities, as well as reform technologies to increasecompetitiveness.

The IT service export conference 2017 isscheduled to take place in HCM City on October 19-20 with the participation ofover 150 multinational groups and 250 domestic IT businesses to promoteVietnam’s potential in the field and connect domestic and foreigncompanies.-VNA

The PM revealed Vietnam’s plan to develop nuclear power in the near future, and called on the Swedish side to assist Vietnam in developing and refining legal and policy frameworks for the use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes; training and developing human resources; ensuring nuclear safety; and conducting training and drills to improve incident management capabilities.
