Vietnam-Malaysia diplomatic ties marked in HCM City

HCM City(VNA) 𓃲– The People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City held a ceremony on June 13 tocelebrate the 50th founding anniversary of Vietnam-Malaysiadiplomatic relations.

In his remarks,Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Phan Van Mai said Vietnamand Malaysia share many cultural similarities and boast highly complementarycooperation.

On the ground of the good bilateral relationship, the ties between HCM City and Malaysia have seen positive results, especially in investment cooperation, tradeexchange, education, tourism and people-to-people exchange.

HCM City attaches great importance to the relationshipbetween Vietnam and Malaysia in general, and the bond between the cityand Malaysia in particular, Mai affirmed, adding that the friendship,cooperation and joint vision have contributed to the common development ofthe two countries.

🌼 Dato Tan Yang Thai, Malaysian Ambassador to Vietnam said the bilateral relationship has proven to be solid and long-term since the twocountries established diplomatic ties on March 30, 1973; and has been further strengthened with the signing of an agreementto establish a strategic partnership in 2015.

The agreement calls for closerties between the two countries in all fields, reflecting their determination todeepen the bilateral ties, he said, elaborating that Malaysia seesgreat opportunities in Vietnam and will continue to further enhancetrade and investment cooperation between the two countries, especially inpotential fields.

ꦬ The diplomat said Malaysia and Vietnam have become importantpartners in terms of  tourism, educational cooperation and people-to-peopleexchange.

The regular exchange of visits at all levels between the two nations signals stronger bilateral relationship in the future, hesaid./.
