Vietnam News Agency seek to intensify information connection with Mekong Delta localities

Hanoi (VNA) – Member of the PartyCentral Committee and General Director of the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) NguyenDuc Loi on November 25 had working sessions with officials of the Mekong Delta localitiesof Can Tho and Soc Trang to strengthen information cooperation.

During his meeting with Secretary of the SocTrang province’s Party Committee Lam Van Man, General Director Loi briefed theprovince’s leaders on VNA’s building and development, with it nowhaving representative offices in all the 63 provinces and cities nationwide, and 30 nationsand territories around the world.

The agency can promote the image of Soc Trang, he said, hoping that both sideswould sign a cooperation agreement on information dissemination.

Man expressed his hope that the VNA will continueto support the locality in promoting its communication work, contributing to attractingmore investment for the locality’s socio-economic development.

The two sides agreed to speed up the signing ofan information cooperation agreement for 2021-2025.

Meeting withrepresentatives of Can Tho city’s Party Committee on the same day afternoon,Loi said he hopes that the municipal authorities will continue to provide officialinformation for press agencies, including the VNA.

For his part, Deputy Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Phan Van Hieu hopedto continue receiving support of press agencies, including the VNA, thus helpingCan Tho promote its image as well as lure investment towards becoming a corecity in the southwest region.

The two sides took theoccasion to discuss a plan to enhance information cooperation in the2021-2025 period./.
