Hanoi (VNA)𝓀 – The Vietnamese feature film “Toi thay hoa vang tren co xanh” (Yellow flowers on the green grass) left a strong impression on Chilean and international audiences after being screened at the Cineteca Nacional, Chile’s national cinema, as part of the 2025 Francophonie Festival.

The Embassy of Vietnam in Chile brought director Victor Vu’s film to viewers in Santiago, aiming to showcase the poetic beauty and unique cultural traits of rural Vietnam to a wide international audience. Held from March 20 to April 8, the Francophonie Festival saw the participation of 15 embassies and diplomatic missions from Francophone countries in Chile.
Celebrating the French language and the diverse cultural values of the Francophone community, the annual festival included a wide range of activities such as film screenings, art exhibitions, panel discussions, a food fair, and educational programmes, all designed to promote multilateral dialogue, mutual understanding, and cultural exchange. In addition to presenting Vietnamese cinema, the Vietnamese Embassy also took part in the festival’s culinary segment. Dishes were prepared and served by embassy staff and their spouses, introducing visitors to the rich and flavorful Vietnamese cuisine.
Through such activities, the embassy reaffirmed its role as an active and prominent contributor to this year’s Francophonie Festival, receiving warm support from the local public and international participants. Vietnam’s consistent and meaningful participation in the festival over the years reflects its proactive approach to international integration, promotion of cultural exchange, and commitment to fostering friendship with Francophone countries, including host nation Chile, which currently holds the observer status in the International Organisation of La Francophonie./.
