Vietnam Peace and Development Foundation celebrates its 20th anniversary
The Vietnam Peace and Development Foundation (VPDF) under the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations on April 8 held a ceremony in Hanoi to celebrate its 20th anniversary (April 9, 2003-2023) and receive the first-class Labour Order.

Hanoi (VNA)🎀 – The Vietnam Peace and Development Foundation (VPDF) under the VietnamUnion of Friendship Organisations on April 8 held a ceremony in Hanoi tocelebrate its 20th anniversary (April 9, 2003-2023) and receive thefirst-class Labour Order.
Speaking at the event, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuanapplauded the VPDF for its meaningful and practical contributions topeople-to-people diplomacy, thereby effectivelyimplementing the foreign policy of the Party and State in all stages of thecountry's development. The official emphasised that the VPDF has contributedto strengthening friendship and cooperation, promoting the support ofinternational friends for the cause of national renewal, construction and development,promoting and protecting the national interests, and actively contributing to thecommon efforts of the mankind for a world of peace, friendship, cooperation anddevelopment. She suggested that the VPDF continue to participate andcontribute to resolving conflicts and disputes in the region and the worldthrough peaceful solutions and international law; and join hands to support victims of armed conflicts, natural disasters, epidemics, andpost-COVID-19 economic decline. VDPF Chairman HaHung Cuong expressed his deep gratitude to former Vice President Nguyen ThiBinh who is its founder and now Honorary chairwoman. Cuong emphasisedthat the organisation will continue to promote the tradition of serving the cause ofpeople-to-people diplomacy in particular and national peace safeguardingand development, contributing to peace, justice, democracy and progress inthe region and around the world./.
People-to-people diplomacy will focus on activities in service of national socio-economic development in 2023, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga has said.
