Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnam is 13th globally in Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6)adoption rate with more than 14 million users, according to Google.
Theinformation was revealed during a meeting of the Vietnam IPv6 Task Force inHanoi on March 5.
Thecountry ranked second in Southeast Asia, behind only Malaysia, and sixth inAsia-Pacific.
IPv6 is paving the way for the explosion of smartphones, tablets, IoT devices and other Internet-enabled devices, altering theway people, organisations and governments are connected.
Many mobile service providers have planned toswitch to all IPv6 service to address the deficiency of internet addresses,simplify networks and save costs and resources.
Vietnam has more than 58 million internet usersout of its 90 million people and in excess of 125 millionmobile subscribers.-VNA
A thematic seminar on the close linkage between IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) and the Internet of Things (IoT) industry took place in Hanoi on May 5.
The use of Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) in Vietnam in the first half of 2017 grew 6.54 percent, lifting the usage rate of IPv6 in the country to 14.43 percent.
