Duong made the remarks at the PlenarySession of the 2017 Vietnam-Japan Scientific Exchange Meeting (VJSE2017),themed “Connecting people: Shaping the future”, held at the Shibaura Instituteof Technology in Tokyo recently.
He stressed the important role ofoverseas Vietnamese researchers in contributing to the development of Vietnam’sscience and technology sector and reiterated the ministry’s support to activitiesconnecting research communities as the VJSE has done.
The VJSE2017, the tenth of its kind, wasco-organised by the Vietnamese Youth and Student Association in Japan (VYSA)and the Vietnamese Academic Network of Japan (VANJ).
It attracted over 230 delegates fromJapan, Vietnam, the Republic of Korea, Australia and Taiwan (China), includingabout 200 from Japan’s leading universities and research institutes. It aimedto serve as a forum for promoting the scientific collaboration and cultureexchanges between the two countries.
