Vietnam releases ICT White Book 2017

The White Book on Information and Communications Technology (ICT) 2017 of Vietnam was released by the Ministry of Information and Communications (MoIC) in Hanoi on September 19.

Hanoi (VNA) – The White Book on Information andCommunications Technology (ICT) 2017 of Vietnam was released by the Ministry ofInformation and Communications (MoIC) in Hanoi on September 19.

The book provides key statistics about ICTdevelopment in Vietnam in 2015 and 2016, covering IT application, IT industry,ICT research and training, legal documents, ICT programmes and projects,international cooperation, and ICT agencies and organisations, among others.

This year’s white book was also added with somenew criteria, such as online public services, IT application in businesses, TVratings, and data on the development of IT services, in accordance withinternational practice.

Meanwhile, some information already publicisedin other publications was excluded from the book.

The book’s English version is set to be releasedin October. The papers will also be posted on the MoIC’s website in the timeahead. 

MoIC Minister Truong Minh Tuan said the whitebook is a basis for not only Vietnamese people but also foreigners andinvestors to have an insight into ICT facts in Vietnam so that they canconsider investment in this sector.

He added that 400 copies of the book will bedistributed to ministries, sectors, localities, some associations, businessesand foreign organisations with ICT-related activities, and embassies with ICTcooperation with the country.-VNA
