Vietnam, RoK bolster digital transformation cooperation in judicial sector

Hanoi (VNA) – Chief Justice of the Supreme People’s Court Le Minh Tri has called on the Republic of Korea (RoK) to enhance support, exchanges, and training in electronic investigation and evidence, and in the fight against high-tech and transnational crimes.
At a meeting with RoK Ambassador to Vietnam Choi Young-sam on March 4, Tri applauded the fast-growing and effective partnership between the two countries across politics, diplomacy, defence, economy, and culture. He reaffirmed the RoK’s status as one of Vietnam’s leading partners in all spheres.
The official also extended his appreciation for the RoK’s support in key projects benefiting the Supreme People’s Court.
As Vietnam accelerates its digital transformation under Resolution 57, Tri called on the ambassador to serve as a bridge for judicial exchanges, enabling both sides to share expertise in court proceedings and technology applications in the sector.
The official asked the diplomat to convey his an invitation to the Chief Justice of the RoK Supreme Court to visit Vietnam in 2025.
For his part, Ambassador Choi affirmed his commitment to further strengthening bilateral judicial cooperation. He noted that the RoK government, Supreme Court, Embassy, and Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) are eager to collaborate with Vietnam’s judicial sector, and support ongoing and future projects, particularly in digital transformation and IT applications. .
𓄧 The ambassador also expressed hope that Vietnam will continue creating favourable conditions for Korean businesses in the country. He called for Vietnam's stronger support in administrative procedures and citizen and business protection./.
State President Luong Cuong requested the court sector to strictly carry out the Party’s policy on building an elite, streamlined, strong, efficient, and effective apparatus at a working session with the Supreme People’s Court on December 2.
Sharing the positive results of Vietnam's socio-economic development in 2024, PM Pham Minh Chinh mentioned that its investment and business environment has continued to improve, receiving positive assessments from the international community and investors. The country's economy is currently ranked 33rd or 34th in the world, and many major international organisations have upgraded its competitiveness rankings and rated its creditworthiness as stable.
The Vietnamese energy market is expected to be very dynamic, and Vietnam is keen to welcome foreign investors, including those from the RoK. The country also welcomes comprehensive strategic partners with rich experience and knowledge in nuclear power.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Long spoke highly of the dynamic, positive, and comprehensive development of Vietnam – Russia relations in recent years. He affirmed that the Vietnamese Party and State place great importance on further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia in a substantive and effective manner, in line with the development needs of both nations.
At the conference, participants reported that the Government has so far issued 28 decrees on the delegation of responsibilities and powers between the central Government and two-tier local administrations. Several localities have already piloted the new governance model.
