Seoul (VNAꦐ) –Vietnam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) have signed an administrative deal onthe implementation of a bilateral agreement on social insurance.
The deal was inked by Vietnamese Deputy Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA) NguyenBa Hoan and Deputy Minister for Planning and Coordination of the RoK's Ministry of Health and Welfare (MOHW) Kim Hyejinin Sejong city onDecember 8.
The bilateral agreement on social insuranceis expected to create favourable conditions for the flow of workers andprotect the rights and interests related to social insurance ofworkers from both countries.
🦩 It aims to avoid double social insurancecontributions paid by Vietnamese and Korean citizens working in each other’scountry.
The agreement, which will take effect from January 1 next year, will facilitate informationsharing between the two countries' enforcement agencies, helping to strengthenlabour management in a more convenient and effective manner. Hoan highly appreciated the cooperative relationship between Vietnamand the RoK over the past 30 years since the two countries establisheddiplomatic ties. To promote their collaboration in the comingtime, he suggested the two sides continue to coordinate closely inimplementing the bilateral agreement on social insurance, improving the qualityof labour management, sharing information and implementing policies to ensurebenefits for workers of the two countries in line with the signed agreement./.
The Vietnamese Government has issued a resolution approving an agreement on social insurance signed with the Government of the Republic of Korea (RoK) on December 14, 2021.
