Vietnam seeks new cooperation opportunities with Austria

Hanoi (VNA) – Vietnamese Ambassador toAustria Nguyen Trung Kien has recently visited Styria, the second largest state of the European nation, toseek new cooperation opportunities between localities of the two countries.
Within the visit, he met with Elke Kahr, leader of theAustrian Communist Party (KPO) in Styria that won a victory in local elections inGraz city on September 26. With this result, Kahr will become a new Mayor of Graz city later this year.
The two sides discussed cooperation between Vietnamand Graz city over the past time, and agreed to boost the bilateralcollaboration in economy, industry, research - training, tourism - culture and experiencesharing.
Kahr said she is willing to coordinate with theVietnamese Embassy in Austria to organise activities in Graz on the occasion ofthe 50th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Austriain 2022.
Kien made field trips to two local firms, ChristofIndustries and AVL, to explore economic models of the Austrian state.
Christof Industries is specialised in mechanical andelectrical assembly, I & C engineering, power plant engineering, millinstallation and maintenance as well as the maintenance and repair ofindustrial machinery and plants.
Meanwhile, AVL is the world's largest independentcompany for the development, simulation and testing of powertrain systems.
Both enterprises expressed their hope for cooperationwith Vietnam.
At a seminar held by the Vietnamese Embassy in Austria,local businesses suggested that restrictions on movement, entry, exit and quarantineamid the COVID-19 pandemic should be removed or imposed in a flexible manner to createoptimal conditions for Austrian firms to soon return to Vietnam./.
Vietnam wishes to promote cooperation with Austria in the field of energy, especially renewable energy and sustainable development, Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Hong Dien told State Secretary in the Federal Ministry for Climate Action, Environment, Energy, Mobility, Innovation and Technology Magnus Brunner on September 7.
The Vietnam - Austria relations have been consolidated and developed continuously despite effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, said Vietnamese Ambassador to Austria and permanent representative of Vietnam to international organisation in Vienna Nguyen Trung Kien.
The trip will be made at the invitations of Chinese Premier Li Qiang and WEF President and CEO Børge Brende, according to an announcement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
