Vietnam sends medical masks to Myanmar

A batch of 35,000 medical masks have been delivered to Myanmar to aid Mandalay city amid an increasing number of COVID-19 cases.

Bangkok (VNA) - A batch of 35,000 medical masks have been delivered toMyanmar to aid Mandalay city amid an increasing number of COVID-19 cases.

The batchwas a donation from authorities in central Da Nang city and from Vietnamesecitizens.

Speakingat the handover ceremony at Yangon International Airport on December 12,Vietnamese Ambassador to Myanmar Ly Quoc Tuan underscored that the VietnameseGovernment and people always think of their friends during hardship, and hopedthat Mandalay will soon overcome its pandemic-related difficulties.

TheVietnamese Government previously sent over 90,000 USD, 160,000 medical masks,antiseptic solution, and medical equipment to Myanmar. Vietnamese enterprisesin the country also donated more than 25,000 USD and 10,000 face masks.

As ofDecember 13, the number of infections in Myanmar stood at 108,342, with 2,268 fatalities./.
