At the October 7 ceremonyin the capital city of Victoria , the ambassador conveyed StatePresident Truong Tan Sang’s regards and best wishes to the President ofSeychelles, affirming that Vietnamese leaders and people highly valuethe two countries’ cooperation.
For his part, theSeychelles President expressed his hope that Vietnam will be agateway for Seychelles to boost economic and trade ties withAsian-Pacific countries. He stated that his island nation is willing toserve as a bridge linking Vietnam with African states. Ambassador Trung also met with Vice President Danny Faure, DeputySpeaker of Seychelles National Assembly Andre Pool, Minister of Cultureand Tourism, Minister of Natural Resources and Agriculture,representatives from Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry ofEnvironment and Energy.
On the occasion, theSeychelles Government informed that the two sides had accomplished legalprocedures to activate their aviation service agreement, paving the wayfor airlines to forge cooperative partnerships. Two-way trade between Seychelles and Vietnam reached 1.3 million USD in 2013. Seychelles is the second largest African investor in Vietnam,involving in 12 projects worth 56.19 million USD, with three totaling 15million USD licensed in the first half of this year alone.-VNA
